book #1 of 2012: everything is illuminated by jonathan safran-foer
it took me a little while to get into this book. i was a little disappointed at first, because i had just read and LOVED extremely loud and incredibly close. but, by the time i got to the end of this book, i again found myself fighting back tears on the subway. safran-foer’s writing style is so unique and so beautiful, that you can’t help but get involved with the lives and sorrows of his characters. this book, like extremely loud, is about searching for something that doesn’t exist and coping with that things non-existence. read this book, i guarantee you’ll enjoy it.
4 out of 5 stars.

Cried so, so ugly reading this on a family vacation that my sisters asked what I was reading solely to note to never read it and end up like me.

I felt the same way, I wanted it to MOVE ME the way that Extremely Loud did & it wasn’t quite on that level but still was so so so good. JSF is just amazing.
